Touch & Feel
Gypser Glass Collection features a wide range of tableware items for trend and style driven modern home and contract applications. The present Collection ‘TOUCH & FEEL’ is entirely manufactured by hand and deeply inspired by the properties of the used material and the traditional process employed since more than 3000 years. Through extensive research and analysis of the fascinating material Glass and in collaboration with highly skilled craftsmen Florian developed a brand new method to reach unseen elegant surfaces and surprising spatial configurations entirely shaped and formed by hand. The exciting surrounding at the Glassworks, being influenced by endless physical elements and limitations such as extreme heat, lava-like glow, quick and long cooling, fluidity, semi fluidity and ultimate hardness, transparency and translucency gives reams of inspiration and starting points to develop products with this fascinating material.

ARCHITECTURE
Bangkok Spine 2006
Bangkok spine, an urban masterplan study and proposal for the city of Bangkok, the capital of Thailand represents a series of 12 inhabitable bridges along Chao Phraya, the river of kings. The design concept of this well recognized thesis project is based on 3 main inspiring factors; 1. the historic relationship between the eastern and western riverbanks 2. the physical context of buildings and streets along the river (linear context) in regards to the accessibility of the riverbanks and 3. the intended development of the public transportation system towards the neglected west bank.
1. (history) the capital of Thailand has been located at the west side of the river. since the continuous attacks of the Burmese army from the west Rama the 1st decided to relocated the capitol to the present area at the east side thus the river was serving as buffer zone between east and west. Due to this historic development the residents of Bangkok still perceive the west side of the Chao Phraya river as yet integrated part of the city.
2. (present physical situation and context) the linear development along the Chao Phraya river differs from many other river situations in other cities around the world. Since the river is especially perceived as transportation surface for ships the recreational potential is highly neglected. The river does not feature any kind of esplanade which would offer exclusive zones for recreation and entertainment along the river banks.
3. (future development) the proposal for the public transportation system such as sky trains and subways foresees to cross the river from the eastern districts towards the western districts at 12 distinctive points along the river banks.
the typology of such bridge will feature following functions:
1. interchange station between skytrain, bus and boat (water, land, sky)
2. shopping area
3. entertainment and recreation area (inside and outside)
4. hotel, hospital and office (inside the towers)
5. residential
Morphoscale - Europan 2007
It was a great experience to work together with Paul Rolland from 2:pm architectures and Germain Benais at the 2007 Europan competition entry. We chose to develop a brown field area in the city of Bordeaux. By creating 3 complementing building typologies containing residential, commercial, cultural and recreational functions we fused the existing adjacent facilities into a interactive network spanning throughout the whole plot. The orientation of the newly introduced typologies towards the city and the public accessibility are playing a major role in the distribution and internal linkage of all involved building parts.
Team: Paul Rolland, Germain Benais, Florian Gypser
MetropoliX
Team-working with Simone Fuchs, Hannes Schafelner and Felix Lohrman we developed an urban master plan for the southern area of the city of Rotterdam. The concept is based on a 3 dimensional stretched building fabric covering a 3 km x 0.6 km long plot. The building structure contains residential spaces and semi-private interconnecting walkways in 3 levels. Public functions such as transportation, commercial, administrative and community related facilities are smoothly interweaving with the main structure. The apartments feature duplex floor plans and facades oriented towards public plazas. Each plaza has its unique arrangement of natural micro-organism and recreational facilities. Access by car is moved under the ground level to enhance a car-free environment.
Team: Simone Fuchs, Hannes Schafelner, Felix Lohrman, Florian Gypser

He entered the master class of Professor Hans Hollein. In 2001 he switched to newly appointed professor Zaha Hadid`s master class where he finally came in touch with a totally new approach towards conceptual contemporary architecture. In the following years Gypser was studying and developing several conceptual master plans for metropolitan cities such as New York, Detroit, Beijing, Vienna and Hamburg. Within an exchange term at the master class of Paolo Piva he firstly started to gain interest in Industrial Design. In the year 2006 after returning to Vienna from a most exciting exchange study at the Silpakorn University in Bangkok, Thailand Gypser accomplished his thesis with the project Bangkok Spine, an urban master plan for the aforementioned capital city of Thailand under the leadership of his master Zaha Hadid.
After the successful accomplishment of his masters Gypser went on to start his independent activities in the field of furniture design. He settled down in the old City Center of Bangkok conducting comprehensive research and analysis regarding contemporary furniture design. The main focus of his undertaking is to develop yet unseen typologies of public and private seating objects. Aside of his main work he became visiting lecturer at local Universities, conducting undergraduate design studios with focus on teaching the significance of advanced architectural Design.
